Walk the Lake, one side then the other. Some urban walking around the lake to Belmont Baths then a Ferry to Wangi for a walk along Wangi Point and return. Cost of ferry $26.00 return.

Samuri Beach Sand Dunes to Birubi Point Coastal Walk

Approx dist 14km with 50m asc/descent

This short walk showcases everything that the Port Stephens coastline offers the walker.

Sandhills, beaches, rocks, bush tracks and whale spotting. There are some sections with uneven surfaces and no track. Easy rock scrambling required and a short rock platform to be negotiated at low tide and one steep sandhill to climb.

Meet at the Junction of Gan Gan Road and the Big Rocky Access Trail at 9.30 am. Cars can be parked in Big Rocky Access Trail. A short car shuffle to Birubi Beach Carpark will be required.

Ride Tuggerah Lake Distance: Approx: 55k
Leisurely bike ride around Tuggerah Lake from North Entrance. We will ride along Wilfred Barrett Drive for about 2k but it has a wide shoulder. Then it is quiet roads and bike paths, passing by Canton Beach, Tacoma, Wyong, Chittaway Bay, Long Jetty & back to The Entrance.

Ascending and descending over some slippery eroded sections, overgrown in parts, rock platforms, long beach and cave entry at the end of Ghosties Beach if possible.

Watsons Bay to Double Bay Foreshore Walk (Stage 2 of Bondi to Manly Coastal Walk)

RESCHEDULED after rain cancellation in April. Distance 11km. This walk follows the foreshore between these two bays and provides stunning views of Sydney Harbour, sheltered beaches and remnant bushland in Sydney Harbour National Park and houses of the very rich!  We will walk on foreshore tracks and paths, streets and beaches - less arduous than Stage 1. This walk follows the ridgeline from St Johns Lookout to Rumbalara with a few sidetrails - all on track with extensive viewing points plus the bronze sculptures at the turn around point. Good shade. Book: Michael

Watagan State Forest - Warrawalong Road to Basin Campsite
Distance: 13.5km Ascent: 430m Descent: approx. 750m

This walk is predominantly follows the GNW from Basin Campsite to Warrawalong Road but in the reverse direction to avoid some long climbs. It passes through some outstanding sections of the Watagans. Involves some steep sections and possible off track walking as well as a 20km car shuffle. Maps: Murrays Run, Morisset. Book: Joanna

Wildflowers and Views - BWNP (Central Coast)

This walk features a wide variety of flowers just off the Patonga Road. It involves a bit of a bush bash through to Elephant Rock (GR 402871) but is all about nature’s flowers, birds, insects, photos and views rather than distance. Map: Broken Bay 9130-1n  Book: Ruth

Mount Royal Circuit (6km 5hrs). Map: Carrabolla 91331S

   Mount Royal 1184m is located one hour drive north of Singleton. It is basically all on track, stunning views on a clear day, with some rock scrambling and a steep descent through open forest back to the cars.

For those wanting to do the Mt Carrow circuit the next day we camp at Youngville campground.         (Walkers could also do the Pieries Peak, a 1.5 hour return circuit after Mount Royal, from a track that starts from the southern end of Youngville campground.)

This walk starts at 8am at the Mt Royal carpark. Walk along Youngs road then deviate to the right along a bush track to Mount Carrow, 978m with great views. Then down an old logging track to Carrow Brook and back to Youngville campground.

Jilliby Conservation Area -Sections 17 (part) and 18 of GNW

Distance: 13 km Ascent: 320m Descent: 550m

This walk combines two attractive sections of the GNW. Highlights are Dead Horse Creek gully featuring stag horns, rock orchids and bird’s nest ferns scattered amongst moss covered rocks and fallen trees and the Bumble Hill dray track with outstanding under cliff areas and dense moist gullies. Book: Joanna
